Refund Policy
Last updated · version 1.0
I'm Brendan Coots, the founder of Freelance Mentors, and I handle every refund request myself. This policy is part of our Terms of Service, and it's the complete set of terms for refunds. There's no other fine print.
The short version
The Summit Program is backed by the 60-Day Successful Launch Guarantee. If you graduate from the program and don't land a new paying client within 60 days, you can ask for your money back. We'll start with a call to work out what's stuck, and after that call the decision is yours. If you still want the refund, you get back everything you paid.
The guarantee covers what you paid for the program. What you earn as a freelancer depends on your market and your work, so I can't promise any particular income.
What "graduating" means
You graduate when you've finished every lesson and every toolkit marked Required in the program. Optional lessons and toolkits don't count either way. Your progress in the training area is the record of when you graduated.
To be covered, you need to graduate within 12 months of your purchase date.
What counts as a new paying client
A client counts when all of these are true:
- they weren't your client before you bought the Summit Program
- you have a signed written agreement with them, such as a contract, a statement of work or a signed proposal
- they've paid you at least $100 for your freelance services
The timeline
- Your 60 days start on the day you graduate.
- If you haven't landed a new paying client by the end of day 60, you can ask for a refund at any point in the 30 days after that (days 61 to 90 after graduating).
- Requests outside that window aren't covered.
How to ask for a refund
- Email [email protected] from the address on your account, with "Successful Launch Guarantee" in the subject line. Tell me the date you graduated and give me a short rundown of the outreach you've done.
- I'll set up a 1:1 call with you (the refund session). We'll go through what you've tried and figure out what's getting in the way.
- After the call, you decide. If you'd like to keep going with a plan we've worked out together, great. If you still want your money back, say so and I'll process the refund.
I may ask for reasonable evidence that you put the program to work, for example copies of proposals or outreach messages with your prospects' details removed.
What you get back
- A full refund of everything you've paid for the Summit Program, to your original payment method.
- If you're on a payment plan, the installments you've already paid come back to you and any remaining installments are cancelled.
- Refunds are issued within 10 business days of your request being approved. Your bank may take a few more days to show it.
- Your Summit Program access ends when the refund is issued.
What isn't covered
- Free or complimentary access, such as a founding-cohort seat, because there's no payment to refund.
- A purchase you've disputed with your bank or card company. Filing a chargeback ends the guarantee for that purchase, so please talk to me first - this policy gets you a full refund without one.
- Abuse of the guarantee, such as sharing your account or misrepresenting a client or your progress.
No other refunds
The 60-Day Successful Launch Guarantee is the only refund the Summit Program offers, and there's no change-of-mind window. The reason is simple - the guarantee is built around doing the work and seeing whether it gets you a client, and that's the promise I can stand behind.
If Freelance Mentors sells anything else in the future, its refund terms will be added to this page before it goes on sale. Nothing in this policy takes away any rights you have under the law where you live.
